CUMBERLAND COUNTY SCHOOLS AWARDED TWO 1.5 MILLION DoDEA GRANTS

Logo for Department of Defense Education Activity The Cumberland County School (CCS) system is pleased to announce they are the recipient of two grants awarded from the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), each grant totaling $1.5 million.  The five-year grants will provide social-emotional support to military-dependent students in the CCS.

Expected to positively impact local educators and military families, the grants will serve the nearly one-fourth of students in the district who are military dependents.

Additionally, the grants will help support school faculty and administrators by providing professional training that addresses behavior issues and the needs of military students and families.

The seventeen schools within CCS that are being serviced by the grants are:

Douglas Byrd MS Douglas Byrd HS
Hope Mills MS EE Smith HS
Ireland Drive MS Jack Britt HS
